About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Dugout Canada (“Dugout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Dugout Canada mobile application and related websites.
By using Dugout, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password stored in protected, one-way form. You may also provide a nickname and profile photo.
Team and game information
We collect the information you and your team add to Dugout, including team names, team logos, team chip backgrounds, roster membership, roles, game schedules, opponents, fields, home/away details, game status, availability responses, batting orders, and fielding assignments.
Messages and notifications
We store team chat messages, direct messages, read status, and in-app notifications so they can be delivered and displayed to the people who are allowed to see them.
Uploaded images
If you choose to upload a profile photo, team logo, or team chip background, we process and store that image and its associated file information. Dugout requests access to your photo library only when you choose an image.
Technical information
Our hosting and security systems may process basic technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as IP address, browser or device type, request times, and error or security records.

How information is shared
With your team. Your name, profile details, team participation, availability, lineup information, and team messages may be visible to the teammates, managers, and channels that your team permissions allow. Direct messages are visible to their participants.
With service providers. We use hosting, database, storage, authentication, security, and infrastructure providers to operate Dugout. These providers process information only as needed to provide services to us and under appropriate contractual or technical controls.
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect the rights and safety of users or the public, investigate abuse, or enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your team content for advertising.
Account deletion and retention
You can permanently delete your account from the Profile screen in the Dugout app. When you confirm deletion, we revoke your active sessions and delete your account record and associated active service data, including memberships, messages, notifications, and teams you created, subject to limited retention described below.
We may retain limited information when necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or reliable backup recovery. Retained information is deleted or de-identified when the reason for retention ends.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please choose a unique password and do not share it.
Children’s privacy
Dugout is intended for team managers and players and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
International processing
Dugout and its service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Dugout changes or as legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the effective date. Your continued use of Dugout after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the service.
